POSITION TITLE : Early Child Development Intern
LOCATION : ICAN Family Resource Centers @ Vietnamese American Cultural Center, San Jose, CA
TYPE OF POSITION : 3 months Summer Internship (June - August/September 2019), Unpaid
ICAN was founded in 2000 by three refugees of the Vietnam War with the mission to lend a helping hand to the families, friends, neighbors and fellow countrymen whom they left behind and to do their part in guiding the children of their home country to become compassionate leaders. To date, ICAN has funded 6,422 cataract surgeries for poor seniors, raised money for CPAP machines that save 800-1,000 infants and premature babies per year, and helped produce 3 physicians, 2 pharmacists, 1 nurse, 10 engineers, 1 teacher, and 1 lawyer through our ICANDream Scholarship programs. While still maintaining our commitment to our charitable projects in Vietnam, ICAN has evolved throughout the years into an organization that supports and strengthens the local Vietnamese community. Our US-based programs include positive parenting workshops, baby care classes, and kindergarten readiness programs. For more information, please visit our website: www.ICAN2.org.
