Project Coordinator

Full-time, permanent position

The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Program Director and works alongside 6 other staff in the early childhood team to raise awareness of the importance of the child’s formative years, increase support for positive early childhood development, and provide skills and assistance to parents and grandparents to better support and advocate for their children. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and/or facilitating parenting workshops and other activities at ICAN Family Resource Center (and other locations) to support early learning, promote parent and community engagement, and increase access to early development resources in the community.

 

Vietnamese Cultural Broker

Full-time position

The Vietnamese Cultural Broker partners with the social worker, or another representative from the DFCS, in responding to alleged child abuse/neglect situations. In these highly- charged environments, the Cultural Broker will act as the bridge to minimize conflicts, ensure cultural understanding of the situation from both sides, cultivate trust and empathy, and foster partnership between the family and the county in order to arrive at the best solution to support the children. The Cultural Broker will work with the family for 60 days (from the initial meeting) to assist families in accessing services.

 

Community Worker II / Program Manager

Full-time position

The Community Worker II / Program Manager is responsible for organizing and teaching core parenting workshops for the Family Resource Center as required by FIRST 5 Santa Clara County in order to provide parents and grandparents with more appropriate positive parenting skills.  S/he is also responsible for helping to organize and/or attend outreach events in the community, capturing community needs and developing strategic partnership with partner community-based agencies to better engage all sectors in the community to ensure healthy development of our children aged 0-8.

Outreach Specialist

Full-time, permanent position

The Outreach Specialist reports directly to the Program Director and focuses on developing and delivering culturally effective messaging and outreach strategies that promote awareness of ICAN in general and participation in ICAN’s programs and services in particular. S/he also works alongside program staff at ICAN Family Resource Center (FRC) to advertise about specific FRC programs and activities via different outreach venues such as printed materials (flyers and brochures, mass mailing), ethnic media (radio, TV, newspaper), social media, cross-referral arrangement with other community-based organizations, word of mouth etc. S/he will be attending outreach and community events organized by others and will take the lead or participate in organizing ICAN events (community/family, cultural, fundraising).

 

Filipino Cultural Broker

Half-time position
