Lantern Tutorial - Chỉ dẫn xếp lồng đèn
Materials Required:
(7) Sheets of paper 8.5” x 11”, preferably different colored construction paper
Scissors
Glue
A CD (Compact Disc) to use as a circle template
Pen or pencil
Stapler (optional)
And last but not least: Creativity
Step 1:
Use a CD to draw (3) circles on (2) sheets of paper. Staple the 2 template papers onto a stack of 2 and 3 sheets of your remaining pieces of paper. Now you'll have two separate stacks of paper stapled together with the 3 circles you drew on top.
Cut the circles out. You'll have a total of 21 circles. We'll only need (20) of them.

Step 2:
Draw an equilateral triangle on one of the circles. Stack a few circles on top of one another and fold along the dotted lines. Fold a total of (20) circles.
 |
An Equilateral Triangle is a triangle with 3 sides of equal length and has 3 equal angles of 60 degrees. |
|
You'll have (20) of your circles folded into triangles with 3 exposed tabs each.

Step 3:
To form the top of the lantern, glue (5) of your folded circles together forming a closed circle, which will form a pentagon cap when looking down. NOTE: Do NOT put any glue on the (5) exposed tabs.
 |
A Pentagon is a five sided polygon with 5 sides of equal length and has 5 angles of 108 degrees. |
|
Step 4: REPEAT Step 3:
To form the bottom of the lantern, repeat Step 3.
Step 5:
To form the middle of the lantern, glue (10) of your folded circles forming a straight line. Note: Do NOT put glue on the 5 red exposed tabs on the top or the 5 yellow on the bottom yet—you will do this in the following steps.

Step 6:
Glue the 1st tab of the 1st triangle with the last tab of the last triangle (10 circles you just glued) together to make a "cylinder". In this example, when looking at the top, it would be red, but when looking at the bottom, it would be yellow.

Step 7:
Now glue your top and bottom lantern pieces, to the 5 top and bottom tabs from the middle piece you created in step 6. Tip: Align the tabs so that both the top and middle cyclinder come together.

Good job! You did it! Now step back and be proud of your new creation.
