What is Happy 5?

WHO WE SERVE

Happy 5 is a public education program geared towards Vietnamese parents, grandparents and care providers in our community focused on positive parenting through the lens of child development in the first five years.

WHAT WE DO

Happy 5 reaches out to the community through parenting workshops, home visits, support groups, weekly radio programs, an annual full day forum addressing issues related to children of all ages, and Vietnamese parenting guides.

The parenting workshops are a 6 week program that promotes discussion on cultural differences and highlights situations that are considered child abuse/neglect in America in these ranging topics: Brain Development, Language Development, Basic Care & Hygiene, Self-Esteem, Nutrition, Music Movements, and Arts & Crafts.

WHY IT MATTERS

Our innovative curriculum combines both Vietnamese and American perspectives, encourages participants to bridge the cultural gaps, and empowers parents to adopt safer, more appropriate parenting techniques.
