ICAN Summer Internship Program

WHAT IS THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM?

For this summer internship, you will be working first-hand with the staff of ICAN to work on childcare and youth development programs, Vietnamese community projects, and other events that benefit our Vietnamese-American community. We support a variety of programs from working with children and parents, marketing online for our programs, to even designing and upkeep of our websites.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This internship is for college students of Vietnamese descent who are not only proactive and willing to learn on the job, but also want to give back to the community while doing so. It is also for students who wish to build connections with bigger groups like Kaiser Permanente, San Jose Parks and Recreation, and Google through networking with board members and project collaborations. Anyone who wants to be pushed out of their comfort zone to achieve their best will succeed at this internship.

WHAT WILL YOU GET OUT OF IT?

Besides work experience in your field, you will be first in line for our youth programs with limited space, such as our interview and resume building workshops. You will also receive quality training in workplace processing frameworks for managing such as SCRUM from trained professionals and even board members. On top of this, you will gain a new understanding and respect for the community or parents and families who work hard to help their families succeed and for the culture of being a Vietnamese-American. This internship provides the opportunity to strengthen preexisting skills, develop in new areas, and help build bonds within your community
